According to the data, 296,000 underage drivers were fined across Lahore and the rest of Punjab last year, while this year the number has risen to 480,000.
Traffic officials say that one of the major causes of road accidents is the reckless driving by underage motorists. They added that cases are being registered against underage drivers, and surety bonds are also being taken from parents to curb this dangerous practice.
