Punjab Announces Decision on Closure of Schools and Colleges on Monday

The Punjab government has announced that all public and private schools and colleges across the province will remain open on Monday, October 13, 2025, following a review of the overall security situation.

The provincial Education Department confirmed that classes will resume as scheduled in all districts, dismissing rumors of a province-wide closure.

Officials clarified that no general shutdown has been ordered, and academic activities will continue under normal circumstances.

However, in Jhelum district, the local administration has taken a precautionary measure to close all public and private schools and colleges for one day on October 13.

The District Education Authority Jhelum issued a formal notification stating that the decision was made in view of local law and order concerns to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Authorities directed school and college heads in Jhelum to inform parents and staff about the closure and resume normal operations from Tuesday, October 14, unless instructed otherwise.

Meanwhile, across the rest of Punjab, schools have been advised to maintain strict security protocols and remain in coordination with local law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe learning environment.
