The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has received complaints from taxpayers who recently received SMS asking them to file their income tax returns before the 30 September 2025 deadline.

It is clarified that FBR has not authorised the issuance of these messages.

On further inquiry, PTA has informed that these messages have been transmitted inadvertently due to a technical glitch on the part of telecom service providers.

FBR is actively looking into the matter & PTA has been requested to engage with relevant telecom service providers to ensure the timely resolution of the issue.

FBR is always available for esteemed taxpayers for any assistance and remains committed to facilitating them.
