A new high-speed train service between Islamabad and Rawalpindi will launch on March 23, 2026, using imported DMU trains from China. Operated by the CDA and maintained by Pakistan Railways, it will reduce travel time to just 20 minutes at a fare of Rs. 50. Plans include connecting Margalla Station to Ninth Avenue Metro Station for better commuter access.
