A Senate committee sharply questioned the Capital Development Authority after officials confirmed that farmhouses under dispute are valued at around Rs. 1.5 billion each and that one plot was transferred five times inside the CDA office.
Lawmakers said the repeated transfers showed serious internal failures and left buyers with no protection while many cases remain tied up in court.
Senator Rubina Khalid repeatedly pressed CDA on how a single plot could be transferred five times. She said the authority had failed to protect affectees, and CDA officials were unable to explain the repeated transfers. Senator Waqar Mehdi asked where the fifth buyer should go now.
Senator Palwasha Khan said both the FIA and NCCIA were corrupt institutions and recommended sending all wrongful allotment cases to NAB.
The CDA chairman said the authority is ready to provide full records and has no objection if the matter is referred to NAB.
The committee also reviewed the missing file of House No. 522, Street 99, Sector I-10/4. Chairman Senator Waqar Mehdi said the affectee was suffering only because of CDA negligence. He directed the authority to provide immediate relief and expedite the pending court case with a follow-up report.
CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa told the committee that land records are being digitised and scanned through the Punjab Land Revenue Authority. He said the authority is proceeding professionally on cases before courts, will implement judicial decisions, and will not cause delays. He added that corruption cases involving CDA officials are being handed to the FIA.
