In Islamabad, Afghan refugee Shayma and her family live in a safehouse, keeping their voices low so neighbours don’t overhear their mother tongue.
Shayma, just 15 years old, sings Bob Dylan’s The Times They Are a-Changin’ with confidence, hiding her identity behind music.
She told AFP that the kitchen has the best sound, where she performs alongside her sister and young bandmates despite living in hiding.
