The Multan Sultans franchise is reportedly set to undergo a major rebranding ahead of the Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL 11) following the decision of owner Ali Tareen not to renew his contract with the league, as revealed by sources.

Tareen’s exit has put the Multan Sultans franchise up for sale, with the latest valuation of the franchise estimated at Rs. 140 crore. The decision comes amid reported disagreements with PSL organizers over what Tareen described as “poor management” of the tournament.

In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), Tareen reflected on his tenure with the Sultans, calling it “one of the greatest honors of my life.” He expressed gratitude to the team’s supporters and highlighted the pride of representing South Punjab on the national stage.

With the team now open to new ownership, investors have a chance to acquire the franchise ahead of the next PSL season. All other PSL franchises, including Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings, and Quetta Gladiators, have already renewed their contracts with the league.

PSL 2026 is also set to expand further, with the addition of two new teams based in Gilgit and Faisalabad, continuing the league’s growth and strengthening its reach across Pakistan.
