The vehicle was stopped by the Quick Response Force near Waziristan Chowk during an operation on Wednesday.

According to officials, the truck, bearing registration number P 4234, was traveling from Quetta to Rawalpindi when it was flagged down.

The inspection led to the recovery of a large consignment of foreign-origin cigarettes, polyester cloth rolls, and betel nuts. The vehicle has been taken into custody, and a case has been registered under the Pakistan Customs Act, 1969.

FBR praised the swift coordination of the enforcement team, saying the action demonstrates ongoing efforts to curb illicit trade and safeguard public revenue.

Officials said the incident reflects growing vigilance across major transit routes, especially as smuggling networks continue to shift tactics to avoid detection.

The Customs Enforcement team added that operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are being intensified to choke supply chains of non-duty-paid goods entering the country through western borders.
