Airlink Communication Limited is preparing to begin local assembly of Acer laptops in Pakistan, following the expected arrival of an initial shipment of 10,000 units by November.

The company shared this update during a corporate briefing attended by Topline Securities. The imported laptops will be used to test the market under a pilot phase, but Airlink has made clear its intention to shift to local production if the initial launch performs well.

Airlink’s management has stated that, once fully operational, the plant could assemble up to 10,000 laptops per month, contributing Rs. 4 billion annually.

By investing in localized assembly, Airlink aims to reduce dependency on imported devices, lower costs, and contribute to job creation within the country’s growing tech industry. The company plans to gradually increase local input in the production process if the pilot proves successful.

This move also supports the government’s efforts to promote industrial growth under the “Made in Pakistan” initiative, which encourages the development of homegrown manufacturing capabilities across various sectors.
