Daily Checking of School Bags Made Mandatory in Punjab

The Punjab Education Department has issued strict new security guidelines for both private and public schools throughout the province, according to City42.

Administrators have been instructed to keep all CCTV cameras operational at all times and to ensure that metal detectors are not only present at entry points but also being used properly by trained staff.

In addition to technological measures, school management must now carry out daily checks of students’ bags to guard against the presence of any prohibited or suspicious items.

The department has also emphasized the importance of security awareness, directing teachers and staff to educate students about the need for vigilance and to regularly review safety protocols during meetings and classroom sessions.

Heads of schools have been asked to establish clear procedures for reporting any unusual activity immediately to local police as well as district education authorities. Regular drills and reminders about emergency plans are to be included in the school routine.

According to officials, these steps are part of a province-wide campaign to ensure the safety and security of students, teachers, and staff in every educational institution across Punjab.
