Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said his government would review recommendations from an independent report showing Islamophobia in Australia has reached unprecedented levels. The report, presented by Aftab Malik, the government’s special envoy to combat Islamophobia, noted that discrimination has become so normalised many incidents go unreported. Malik highlighted abuses such as public harassment, graffiti, and the targeting of Muslim women and children for their identity and appearance.
